Stacee went to Prom!

Our "daughter", Stacee, went to prom last night! She was soooo BeAuTiFuL!! Thanks to Judy Rooney who did her hair and makeup, she looked like a Princess! We are so proud of you Stacee and we love you! Hope you had a wonderful time.

Well the devil is out to destroy our blog ministry but we will keep rebuking him. God is good all the time! Everytime we would try to post an entry, the computer wouldn't let us, saying that it was unsecure and someone would steal our information, but praise the Lord, I think we are back in business!

We will be having a going away night for Milky next Thursday, the 28th. Everyone plan to come! We sure will miss our friend...but maybe we could plan a missions trip to Thailand. Milky said we could all stay at her house for free!! :)

Fine Arts 2009

We took 6 participants to Fine Arts this year and had such a wonderful time. All six of them came back with a superior rating..WOOHOO! Four of those got a superior with invitation to Nationals. Leah McDowell, Anna-Shea Bryer and Noel McDowell all had beautiful piano solos, Brianna Staid sang an amazing solo, Mark Bryer beat the daylights out of the drums on his percussion solo and Calvin Shaw submitted an awesome poem he wrote. We could not be more proud of our young people! CONGRATULATIONS everyone!!

Hello..Hello..Hello!! Sorry everyone that it has been so long since we made a post. Just wanted to let everyone know that we are still having youth services every Thursday night at 7:00 pm at the church. We would love to have everyone join us this week and bring a friend! We've been having some good discussions.

Youth Rally

Tonight at Bethel Assembly they are having a youth rally if anyone is interested in going. It starts at 6:00 p.m. It should be a good night. We are going to call everyone and if you need a ride let us know, maybe we could arrange to take the van.

Q&A

Last night we had our youth service and Marky led us in a few worship songs. Tony had a Q&A session with everyone. You could ask any question you wanted an answer to. There was a great range of questions from how many people do you think will fit into the new Jerusalem to what is appropriate to wear at church to why is Tony bald..:) We had a good time. Next week, both Tony and Sonya and Matt and Honey will be out of town so Jared has stepped up to fill in for us. He has a message prepared on the end times. Everyone come and support Jared, we really appreciate him!

Fun Night

We had a good time last night at youth night! We got together and played Guesstures with a Win, Lose, or Draw twist. We learned that Stacee is our very own Van Gogh! The McDowell's stayed to play with us and Leah showed Joe the correct way to get someone to guess "Driving Miss Daisy" (Ask Joe :)) Thanks again to Gerald who suppled us with delicious pizzas and soft drinks, we love you Gerald! Youth service will continue on next Thursday..we are excited!!

Youth Night

Hey everyone! Tonight is Youth night and we will meet for a fun night of games and refreshments. We will still meet at the church at 7:00. Also, we will miss Marky and Anna-Shea tonight as they are traveling with their family. Everyone keep them in your prayers this weekend for a safe trip. See you tonight!

Another good night

Well we had our second service last night at church. We were excited that the air was on and we were able to have our service in the sanctuary. Marky did a great job leading worship and Tony started a new series of sermons called "I AM getting to know God." Next week will be the end of the month so we will be having a youth night rather than a service. If anyone has any ideas of what they may like to do, just let us know and we will come up with something fun! We appreciate everyone coming and are looking forward to see what the Lord has in store for our youth group.

We just wanted to let everyone know that we WILL be having service this Thursday night even though there is no church on Wednesday due to the air being off. We will be in the basement somewhere, and hopefully it will be cooler down there. Hope to see everyone there! Have a good day :)

Our first service

We had our first service last night!! Tyler and his band along with our very own Marky on the drums did a great job with a few worship songs and Tony talked about what we wanted to accomplish as a group, such as fundraisers for STL, missions trips, and getting closer to the Lord through prayer and reading the Bible. We had 18 people total and are really looking forward to next week. Thanks everyone for coming!! See you next week. Check below for more pics...

We just got home from listening to Tyler and his band and they were really, REALLY good!! Stacee is hopeful that some of them will be able to come and play this Thursday night for the worship part of our service. Come and check them out, I know you'll enjoy it!

Congratulations to Leah for making Superior at National Fine Arts last week!! Leah, we are so proud of you. Also, thanks so very much to Gerald Edwards for volunteering to provide refeshments for our youth service this week!! Gerald, we appreciate your help more than you know.

We made a slide show at the bottom of the page to show off what a good looking group of people we have and then realized we don't have that many pics. So you never know where you may be when I find you with my camera! I want to get a pic of everyone who is between the of 10-18 whether they can attend regularly or not..They are still an important and loved part of our church family!

Here is what we have going on in August-

August 14- Youth Service at the church at 7:00.
August 21- Youth Service at the church at 7:00.
August 28- Youth night! We will probably get together and talk about what everyone may want to do on this night, on August 14 after the service.

We hope everyone will be able to join us and bring a friend. We are praying for our youth group to grow in numbers, but more importantly to grow closer to Jesus!

Today our thoughts and prayers have been with Leah as she and her family went to NC for the fine arts-nationals! Our family said a prayer at 10:20 this morning when she was getting ready to play. Leah, we are proud of you for using your talents for the Lord...We are excited to hear how things went and are also praying for a safe trip home!

Hey everyone!!
Starting August 14, we are going to move our youth night to Thursdays. We will be at church every Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. The first three Thursdays will be more service minded and the last Thursday of each month will be a fun night. We really would love to have as many come as possible!!

We're out of town today

Good morning everyone!!
We are so excited to hear all of the wonderful stories you have brought back from camp.. We know you will be refreshed and closer to the Lord!
Sonya's aunt passed away yesterday so we will be out of town most of the day today. Visitation is today and the funeral is tomorrow, but we should still be at Sunday morning service.

Youth Service

We are really excited about our upcoming youth service. The four who went to camp will be back and will be on fire!! If you will be at the service and are interested in playing an instrument please let us know so we can make a time to get together and prepare some songs. If not, that's ok, we just thought it would be awesome to start our own worship team since we have so much talent within our group. It will be hard though to outdo Abe's audition!! :)
